Korosh, Nahid and Amin
Korosh, Nahid and Amin are from Shiraz Iran. Korosh worked as an Argon Welder and Electrician.
One day one of Korosh's friends shared his testimony about Jesus, but Korosh was not interested. Six months later he was in an car accident where he suffered several broken bones, and significant skin and tissue damage. In extreme pain, he prayed to Jesus and felt peace in his heart and to the surprise of his doctors, he recovered quickly . Two years later he was on holiday in India where he was able to attend a Christian Church for the first time. After Church he was baptized. Nahid was still in Iran and Muslim. After returning to Iran, he started attending Bible study in homes. One night he was at a Bible study group with 9 other Christians when the police raided the meeting. Seven people were arrested, but Korosh was able to escape. He could not go home, but he called his wife. Nahid and Amin then make a 7 hour trip to the home of her father. Twenty-five days later Korosh left for Jakarta using a fake passport. Nahid and Amin soon joined Korosh. Nahid’s family is accepting Korosh’s conversion to Christianity, but Korosh’s family will not speak to him, except for one brother. For the past 2 years they have lived off of savings and help from Nahid's family. While living in Indonesia, Nahid and Amin have also converted to Christianity. Their savings are now depleted and Nahid's father suffered a heart attack and is no longer able to send money.
The biggest challenge that they have faced is that Amin was not able to go to school for 3 years and not being able to work here. The cost of medical care is too expensive for them and they can’t go to the hospital. They hope to be resettled one day in a country where they will be able to work and provide for themselves. Korosh is grateful to be with his family and to be alive. He says that had he remained in Iran, he would be in jail or dead. Nahid and Amin would have a very difficult life.
