Our Mission

There are over 14000 refugees living in Indonesia. They have fled their home countries of Iran, Afghanistan, and Somalia because of religious or political persecution or war.  Somehow they arrived in Indonesia, where they await resettlement to another country. Indonesia does not accept refugees for resettlement.  The refugee internment camps are full beyond capacity, yet, by law, the refugees  are not permitted to work. Many of the refugees have been here for more than 8 years. Because of the world-wide refugee situation (70 million displaced persons!), very few of the 14000 refugees can be expect to be resettled soon in one of the few countries still accepting refugees. Those countries that are accepting refugees have significantly reduced their annual intake. While we can't help the 1000's in need, we are trying to assist a few by providing the necessities to sustain life, improve education, provide hope and be their friends. We are accomplishing this mission in 3 ways:

  1. Providing monthly living allowance to assist 14 refugees (9 men, 3 women and 2 children) with food and shelter
  2. Pay for tuition for the children at local schools.
  3. When funds are available, assist with urgent medical needs.
